| Info | Red petioles, white bloom on back of leaf, bluish cast to leaves. This seedling from Arthur Wrede, was considered along with 'Designer Genes' as the gift plant for the 2006 AHS Convention. As many know, 'Designer Genes' was chosen. After the selection was made, Arthur gave this beauty to Ali Pollock as a gift. Until now, she has been the only person who has it. The name was chosen by her. From a different breeding line as the spectacular 'Mr. Blue', 'Wrede, White, and Blue' is a brighter color with a light red on the petioles, white backs and a lighter blue color. In sun the blue color develops well, but can be pretty green in a lot of shade. It is a late bloomer, joining the longipes clan at the end of the season. As one of the parents was 'Fall Bouquet', this doesn't come as a surprise. |
