Info'Sum and Substance' sport.
Looks identical to 'Lady Isobel Barnett' and 'Sum it Up'.
Wider margin than LIB.
Good green leaves with a thin gold margin.
However, 'Bottom Line' is an excellent sport of 'Sum and Substance'. Similar Hosta have appeared independently in at least three labs. Our version is similar to 'Sum it Up' and 'Lady Isobel Barnett' but has a much more pronounced variegation. Good green leaves with a variable gold margin. Growth is the same as 'Sum and Substance' (our stock plant is four years old) and does not fade out as much as 'Sum and Substance'. With 'Bottom Line' why would anyone want 'Sum and Substance'. This is one of our best selling Hosta.
A sport of H. 'Sum and Substance' with a dark green center and a wide gold edge. Plant is becoming very popular with our customers. It has the same growth characteristics as 'Sum and Substance', but is a much more attractive plant. There are many variations of this sport on the market, but only two are worth considering. H. 'Bottom Line' has a somewhat variable, wide gold edge while the other, H. 'Sum Total' from Q & Z, seems to be a little more uniform in variegation. The reverse of this sport is H. 'Variable Sum'.
