Info | Emerging leaves have a purple back! In early spring the leaf backs are flashed in purple. As it becomes fully leafed out the dark purple petioles remain most of the season and the leaves become somewhat blue to blue/green. Purple color persists up the back of the leaf vein and on front to a lesser degree up to the leaf base. The long wavy edged leaves resemble 'Curly Fries' and form an evenly rosetted small clump of about 12" high and wide. Under optimal conditions I would expect it to be a touch larger. Bloom scapes are darkly toned as are the pods. 'Zucchini Fries' is a proven breeder which passes along many unusual characteristics. |
