Info | Hosta 'Stimulation' is another of those truly recognizable hostas, even in a crowded hosta garden. This is our 1999 seedling, resulting from a menage a quatre involving H. 'Red Neck Heaven', H. 'Invincible', H. yingeri 'Treasure Island', and last but not least, H. 'Elvis Lives'. The result is a 17" tall x 3' wide clump of very glossy green leaves that have an amazing amount of waviness. The leaf tips appear "stimulated" since they are pinched at the tip, similar to H. ventricosa. The clumps are topped with 28" tall scapes of large pale lavender flowers in mid-September. This hybrid has been through enough already therefore we will not opt for tissue culture. |
