Info | Over 4 feet tall, a metallic blue color, and the leaves stand straight up. I've got big hands but can't put my hand around the 'eye' coming up out of the ground. Because it's straight up, it doesn't get wide, but it is really a showpiece. First reaction upon seeing it, Rod Kuenster said "It looks like a banana tree!", hence the name. The pips that emerge in the spring are 9" in circumference... even Jeff has a hard time getting his hand around a single pip. Jeff describes this hosta as "it certainly passes the 50 ft. rule, no other hosta like it… very tropical looking". |
