| Info | Exciting new tetraploid form of H. 'Kabitan' Exceptional substance and waxy look and structure makes it a real different plant. It sold at the 2003 Convention auction for over $600. Star-like flowers; dense, variegated and heavily rippled leaves. This Mobjack Nursery discovery is a tetraploid sport of the popular H. sieboldii 'Kabitan'. H. 'First Mate' makes a vigorous 21" wide x 10" tall clump of narrow, thick, golden leaves, each surrounded by a dramatic dark green border. In mid-August, the clumps are topped with 2' flower spikes of light lavender flowers. I think you will really find this hosta quite unique. |
