Info | Hosta 'Southern Essence' is the stable form of 'Warwick Essence' streak with a cream center. Not all new sports just appear spontaneously, and this is no exception. I have worked to get a sport of H. 'Warwick Essence' for some time now. The plant first streaked for us and then stabilized with a cream center. We are considering this an experimental Hosta until more people have some experience with it, but it is very interesting. H. 'Warwick Essence' is one of the better Hostas in the South where it makes a massive plant with wonderful fragrant, white, and large flowers. This one does not get quite as big, but it retains the heat tolerance of its parent. |
